Movie Reviews May contain spoilers.Hancock
Starring: Will Smith, Jason Bateman, and Charlize Theron
Premiere: July 2, 2008 Director: Peter Berg Distributor: Columbia Pictures Running Time: 93 minutes Review: This was a good movie - of course, it's one of the only superhero movies that I've actually watched so that can't be considered an honest opinion. Still, I'd recommend it to anyone that's a fan of superhero movies. I still don't see how Charlize and Will's characters were brother and sister though. Oh well, that's a mystery that will be solved another day. Camp Rock
Starring: Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas, Meaghan Jette Martin, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Alyson Stoner, and Maria Canals Barrera
Premiere: June 20, 2008 Director: Matthew Diamond Distributor: Disney Channel Running Time: 94 minutes Review: If you're ever in need of a cheesy romance movie, this is the one too watch. It's cute and much more realistic than any of the High School Musical movies - aside from their use of the popular student x teacher cliche, that is. I think this movie would cheer anybody up - especially people who want rockstar boyfriends. It's not only a romance story, but it's a story about finding one's self. There might not be a Camp Rock in real life, but this definitely makes me wish that there really was one. Get Smart
Starring: Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Alex Arkin, Terence Stamp, and James Caan
Premiere: June 20, 2008 Director: Peter Segal Distributor: Warner Bros. Running Time: 111 minutes Review: This was a good movie, but not one of my favorites. I don't know what was more annoying the fact that Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway) dated Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson) or the fact that Agent 23 ended up being a double agent working for Chaos. Agent 86 (Steve Carell) is the one who ends up saving the day. Kung Fu Panda
Starring: Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, David Cross, and Ian McShane
Premiere: June 6, 2008 Director: Mark Osborne and John Stevenson Distributor: DreamWorks Running Time: 109 minutes Review: This was an okay movie, I suppose. I wouldn't watch it again, that's for sure. I'm not big on animated movies - unless they're based on Japanese anime series (ex. The Castle Beyond The Looking Glass). Kung fu doesn't interest me too much. You Don't Mess With The Zohan
Starring: Adam Sandler, Emmanuelle Chriqui, John Turturro, Nick Swardson, Lainie Kazan, and Rob Schneider
Premiere: June 6, 2008 Director: Dennis Dugan Distributor: Columbia Pictures Running Time: 113 minutes Review: I don't recommend this movie to anyone. It's way too perverted. They tried to make it funny, but it was just too much to be considered humor. It was pretty much revolting, but if you like that kind of thing - go for it. High School Musical 2
Starring: Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Ryne Sanborn, Chris Warren Jr., Olesya Rulin, and Kaycee Stroh
Premiere: August 17, 2007 Director: Kenny Ortega Distributor: Disney Channel Running Time: 111 minutes Review: Bad sequel. The music was good though, but I prefer the first movie in the series. It was unrealistic. Nobody breaks out in song without the situation calling for it. If you know somebody that has, please tell me. High School Musical

Premiere: January 20, 2006 Director: Kenny Ortega Distributor: Disney Channel Running Time: 100 minutes Review: It pretty much rocked. It's pretty unrealistic - so it won't really help with life or high school. Because, in all honesty, jocks hardly ever hook up with nerds and people don't start singing at random times. If you know anybody that can prove me wrong, please tell me. |
